64 Degrees in February?

 

 

At my gardening class this week I learned the craziest thing you can do with a pineapple...

You can basically twist the top off, peel away some of the leaves near the bottom, plant the top in a pot of dirt... and in four to five years you can grow another pineapple! (see detailed instructions here)

 

Blows my mind! Plants are insane!

 

I was already pretty amazed that Home Depot sometimes sells pineapples, and I was told by my teacher that the ones that you can sometimes buy at Home Depot are made this same way... they are just about four years old.

 

Each layer on a pineapple equals about a year of growth.

 

Such a cute idea for a potted plant.
