Cute Fall Hiking Vest Pt. 1

At work last night it was cold and rainy, my boss stopped in after driving down the canyon and showed me a picture on his phone he took up near Salamander Flats... all the trees and ground covered with a dusting of snow!

Just twenty four hours earlier I had hiked to a meadow up there, and it had been warm, bright and sunny:

Fall time in the mountains keeps you on your toes. If you want to be out taking advantage of the beautiful fall leaves you have to be prepared for all weather possibilities. One day it's crisp blue skies with warm September sun... next it's snowing, making the next beautiful sunny day that much more crisp and bright.

I ran into this beautiful vest today by element and wondered to myself why we always forget how great outdoor vests are. A cute hiking vest is the quintessential mountain woman fall hiking item. Vests are so outdoorsy looking and sleek, but also very functional for a mountain woman who spends her time wandering mountain trails in the unpredictable fall weather. It's nice having the extra pockets without the bulky sleeves, and the extra layering for weather that won't make up its' mind... I think every proper mountain woman should have one.
