Good Luck Recently

Yesterday at work this email went out around 1:30 pm from the upfront desk: There is a half sandwich and half bag of chips in the 4thfloor kitchenette. First come First serve. My cubicle neighbor read the email and exclaimed "how desperate are these times!?!? people are advertising half bags of chips!!", then he turned to see me with a half sandwich on my desk, and caught red handed with a mouthful of someone else's chips.... probably left over from Jim Horrocks, himself. Desperate. Desperate times indeed. I would say that was a lucky break... I didn't want to spend money on lunch.

Today I went into the gandolfo's/gas station on geneva to get a diet coke, and thought it seemed like a good day to order a sandwich. I hadn't had a gandolfo in a long time... and suddenly realized I need to be packing them in, because they don't exist in California Country. I ordered, typed in my phone number in the frequent customer pad (God bless eating establishments that don't make you carry around punch cards!), and Wa La! free sandwich I had forgotten about --- just waiting for me in their blessed system. Punch cards can be cute, but giant wallets and stacks of quarter filled punch cards is NEVER cute. Another lucky break.

Who says there is not such thing as a free lunch?

Then I thought it was funny that I ran into this little Jane Snead Sampler kit today...

There is something about getting married soon that makes me want to cross stitch a million Jane Snead Sampler's... can anyone relate?
