The road trip was awesome. I love road trips... and this is the third one I have made to go out and see Dan in the past 6 weeks. And gosh, I love me some road to drive. I love driving by myself, and listening to my tunes, listening to podcasts, thinking, praying, enjoying the scenery. I love spitting sunflower seeds and stopping at gas stations. I LOVE gas stations. Never been in a gas station I didn't like, and that's the truth... there's always something weird and marvelous to behold.
Well, it was nice to have my mom along for company this last trip... plus it's always been her dream to drive a giant budget truck. This woman would make a damn good trucker.... 10-4, yes sir.
The two of us consumed a lot of diet coke and Merle Haggard tunes on this trip, never got pulled over, and didn't have any 'hop ons' (which I was a little nervous every time I opened the back). Success!
Now that all my stuff is in california country with Dan, the announcements are in the mail, and the leaves on the mountains are changing colors (prepping for the wedding), I'm ready to get this knot tied already!
20 days away....
I honestly LOVE those magnets. And the hop on reference.
ReplyDeleteOh you guys! At least now your mom knows the way to where you'll be.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, there is something so empowering about mastering a 16 footer! Best road trip!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think gas stations are so magical.
ReplyDeleteI love/hate this post though. I love that your life is taking you somewhere so new and exciting. I just hate that that place is so far away.
