Deer Creek Dry Creek, Pt. 2

yesterday I played heathen and didn't go to stake conference, instead I hiked the deer creek dry creek trail again. I had to hike it, the weather was too good not to. And since my dad was worried about me hiking it alone he had to come too. And we had to bring our guns, obviously, to protect ourselves from crazy deer hunters, moose, and falling boulders.

It's a hard hike, but I love it so much:
We shared our favorite scriptures with each other, and my Dad bore witness to me of the power of fasting. It was a gorgeous Sabbath afternoon, as we hiked down the alpine side the leaves were absolutely stunning! I sang praises to God in my heart for creating such a beautiful place right near my house to hike in. It's like my old sunday school teacher (bob bills) taught me: it's better to be in the mountains thinking about church, than at church thinking about the mountains.

And somedays I have to agree with him.

  3. I read the title as Clear Creek and was confused. Remember Clear Creek?

But I totally agree. I think of that Emerson quote Lily read us at Yellowstone.
