Lucille, My Cat

This is my cat, Lucille. She doesn't like strangers so she rarely comes out to meet them. But when it's just us Ortons hanging out she shows up to hang out too. She likes to participate in family prayer at night, family dinner, and if she's brave she'll sit out on the deck with us.

She enjoys sitting in Sam's lap for family scripture study, or to watch Sam play halo. When my mom reads and writes in her journal, she likes to curl up beside her. She also tucks Sam and Andie in at night, and reads them stories. When I am up in the morning she is the one who greets me in the kitchen, wanting to know if I slept alright and wish me a good day at work. Her favorite holiday is Christmas, because she loves all the ribbon.

Lucille has been through quite a bit in the last 12 years... two litters of kittens, a ride in the dryer, a fling in the ditch, matted cockleburs in her fur, caught in car engines, and embarrassing haircuts.

I love her.

  4. I love Lucile. She comes out when I am at your house, and I always feel privileged.

Also, I'm sad to hear about Mark selling his dog. I thought that was a very well-behaved dog at only 4 months old. Why the separation of dog and owner?
