2011

(cell phone pix from the bear claw - sundance)

I looked through my work notebook today, where I keep my to-do lists and notes. I had written 2010 on almost all my entries the past few weeks.

I have been in a funk lately, it must be because my brain hasn't caught on that it's 2011. Yesterday I made a list of the things I want to be known for and the things I think are most important - and writing them all out was really rejuvenating. The February funk is upon us - and that's probably when and how our new years' resolutions become fuzzy and get forgotten.

A sampling of my list of rejuvenation -

to me, it is most important to...
-have integrity
-pray sincerely and often
-make time to read
-be a morning person
-be loving to others
-be Christlike
-be beautiful
-enjoy the simple things
-be frugal
-be a good biker
-be a good hiker
-be busy

I love integrity. I just love it. It's the most attractive thing I see in other people, and I want to cultivate more of it. Integrity, personal conviction, virtue and strength - just like a cowboy. And waking up early to get things done - I don't know how these super humans do it, but I feel like they have a strength of character I have not achieved yet... so I will work on it.

Whit I think you have integrity. You have never lied to me. Or maybe you have and I haven't figured it out yet.
