Valentines Weekend

Valentines day is my mom's favorite holiday. And because of her love, I've developed the love. And that love always makes for a lovely day, or a lovely weekend. I really like Valentines day.

Friday night we were up at my bishops cabin above Heber, and it was a blast being up where there is actually snow (and lots of it) and hanging out with the singles ward. I like my singles ward a lot. Plus it's cool that Max comes, and having cousin Tyler Whitney there, and cousin Sara Joy.

Saturday morning we bundled up and went snow shoeing around the cabins' neighborhood, which was cool because the group I went with hadn't ever worn snow shoes before. And snow shoes are awesome.

Not only was Valentines on Sunday, but Chinese New Year started on Sunday AND Vietnamese New Year started too!

So here's some Vietnamese pho soup that Becky and Chip made for the friends V-tine get together:

(also, I love the Simpsons lazy susan - I have ever since jr high)

the soup was excellent. I love pho soup. and I love friends gathered around an old familiar table even more. Steven shared his idea for a reality TV show, Ruby just sucked on lime's, we DEVOURED amanda's cookies (the last cookie on the cake stand had to be split nine ways) and Mark bossed everyone around because he didn't want to get up to use the microwave himself.

then we passed out valentines, voted on who had the coolest box and played our favorite dice game.
good times. I love the Chex.

On Sunday I watched North and South w/ some girls from my relief society, and it was the most fun I have had watching a movie ever! So long, and such a good chick flick... perfect for this time of year.

And then Valentines ended perfectly with the annual text from Lily, wishing me a happy black history month.

  1. I thought about the ski lodge all week. I really want one. I think it was the cutest thing I've ever seen.

  2. That party was so fun. Thank you chex. And thanks to that table that's still around.
And good thing you didn't spoil Steven's idea on your blog. He better hurry and get that patented.
