While at dinner one night on the cruise, our table guests informed the family (I can't even remember how this came up in conversation) of the weird disappearance of the sea lions at pier 39 in san francisco! I was, and still am, completely weirded out by this! Where would they go? Why now, after all this time? What do they know that we don't? Are they going to let boats start docking there again? It's so weird!
I loved watching those sea lions... I felt like I could stare at them for hours, they are the funniest animal to me. McKay was more flabbergasted than I was, because she had just barely saw the creatures not two months ago when she was there.
I tried to remember the last time I had seen the sea lions, and realized I hadn't been to san fransisco since 2004!!! McKay and I road tripped to San Francisco a week before I went into the MTC, then drove down to LA, and then met up with my parents in Las Vegas. Such a good trip, such a good year, so much modest mouse, and it feels like ages ago.
Here's some photos from that trip, and I have decided I need to visit san francisco again in the near future, even if the sea lions are gone:
Sara and I were at the wharf last week and there were about 6 on one floaty thing... that's all...
ReplyDeleteI am so bothered. . . Whitney, lets go back, then go visit Megan.
ReplyDeleteRemember when you took a picture of me on that grassy hill and didn't get the bridge in it?
ReplyDeleteI look like an idiot just on any ol' hill.
Good trip.
hahaha! I remember... I suck at photo taking.
ReplyDeleteand deal, we need to go back to california. I miss the sun, & would love to be part of a major catastrophe... and I'm 90% sure that is what that state is headed for.
Don't worry, they will be back. They're probably just off making babies somewhere more private and warmer!
