Talkboy
Sometimes when I lie in bed at night voices and phrases run through my head. Last night it was this: "Howdy do. This is Peter McCallister, the father. I'd like a hotel room please, with an extra large bed, a TV, and one of those little refrigerators you have to open with a key. Credit card? yoooouuuu got it."
Then I started thinking about my old talkboy. Was that toy not the coolest thing ever? I could entertain myself for hours with that thing. McKay, Kylie and I used to make tapes of ourselves acting out radio shows. And we'd crack ourselves up listening to them. I am grateful that none of those tapes survived that period, they are probably so obnoxious.
funny memories...
tap dancing pirate pencils
sticky flowers
nickelodeon jingles
deodorant ads
Too bad talkboys don't exist anymore. What is the world coming to?

THE TALKBOY!! Oh how I miss it. And I disagree with you--I wish those tapes still existed. I wish it with all my heart. Even if they were obnoxious, I'm sure there's at least 1 worth listening to, if not only to laugh our butts off.
ReplyDeleteI will never get used to your infallible memory. I remember those funny memories, too, but it would have taken me a while to build that little list without some help. I mean, it's been 10+ years after all.
At least we'll always have the memories. And the nummy nummy guys.
