Across the hotel room from me at the MGM Grand I can see Jeff's copy of the last Harry Potter.
I think one of my favorite things about my recent travels to the east coast is being around so many new different people... watching them and wondering about them. Isn't it strange that I didn't know a single soul out there, where I was, except for the one friend I was visiting? That is so weird!
I love that on the east coast, in the big cities, people use the subways and public transportation. There are so many people out there, and I don't know anything about them, nothing! I don't know where they are going, I don't know what they do, I don't know what they are listening to on their ipods!
I think that is why I loved seeing so many Harry Potter books all over the place this last week and a half. It simply was amazing, every time Pat and I were on a subway or at a crowded T-station we would look around and see Harry Potter being read (it was also cool because Pat had his copy with him too). It made me feel connected to them. Old, young, scary, business... all sorts of people were reading Harry Potter, and experiencing Harry Potter world! It's so cool that I love and visit that same magical world that they do, and on that level we can relate. It's like I would see someone reading and I would think "ah, instant friend".
