Happy 4th of July!!

today is my most favorite day all year long. I love the 4th of July. I especially love when it falls on a saturday... so we get friday off to play too!

I love how crazy provo is the night before, I love playing softball with good friends, I love amanda's cobler, I love fireworks, I love parades, I love picnics with family, I love summer, I love freedom.

and out of all the crazy things going on today... the one I am most jealous about: the crown is open again!

I went to New York the spring after 911, and they wouldn't even let us on elis island. But I remember taking the ferry around the island to see her, and being completely in awe at her beauty. I love lady liberty, she stole my heart that day. There is something so graceful about her that isn't really captured in any picture.

This last fall in New York Sam did not really have the same experience:

stupid fog.
